Happy New Year

Happy New Year to all of my friends and family.

Goodwill Outlet Store Haul in St. Louis MO

Thursday my husband and I decided to go to St. Louis, MO, a 175 mile trip for us and shop at the Goodwill Outlet Store.  The Goodwill Outlet Stores are a very different kind of store.....items are sold by the pound.  Books and glass are $.39 a pound and other items are $.79 a pound.   Furniture is individually priced.  We shopped 4 hours on Thursday and 6 hours on Friday.   We had a fantastic time.  We spent hours and hours rooting around in the bins.  Hubby took a picture unknown to me of me checking out the bins (me in the middle---didn't I look tired and need to comb my hair).  But rooting was well worth the time.  Some of my craft finds:

Prismacolor Watercolor Pencils - 24 - brand new in the tin (my hubby found these for me)
Stampin Up - Classic stampin ink - Set of 12 Earth Elements inks (again brand new in the box)
3 sets of Stampin Up  Stamps (in containers)
Packaged embellishments, ribbons, buttons, stickers, rubbons and some paper.  Most of these items were still packaged.

Ladies.....by the weight these items pictured cost me $5.25.....that is right $5.25....what a bargain.
We had the best time and can't wait to do it again.....next trip will be back to Indianapolis to the Outlet Store.  We have done that  several times but I did not find as many great bargains but we  love looking. Bob spends most of his time looking for books to resell and usually finds a lot of good ones to resell.

This is only part of the books.

2012 Idea Collector Challenge from DeDe (Inkwell)

DeDe at Inkwell has a 2012 Idea Collector Challenge and we were to make a book for the

New Years Eve

Well today is New Years Eve and the countdown to the New Year 2012 has begun.  I am looking forward to a great year.  We have family illness and Madison's kidney transplant behind us.  We had a new addition to our family, great-granddaughter, Ella Rose, this year.  While 2011 was a stressful year with family health issues.....we are thankful that the transplant was a success and that Ella Rose has joined our family.

I need to start working on my New Year's Resolution List.....the clock is ticking down.

Thrift Store Shopping

Went thrift store shopping with hubby today.  We had a good time looking for bargains.   I picked up a few things to use on a project I am working on:  Challenge to recycle a pizza box.  We shall see how it turns out.  We got some books to resell, I found a ton of magazines and a few odds and ends.  It was a beautiful day for riding in the car and hitting up the thrift stores.  After shopping we had a late lunch/early dinner at Cheddars in Owensboro, KY.  As always the food was great.

December 27, 2011

I have decided that I am going to enter the New Year "2012" as a blogger.  I figure I need a head start on getting it figured out before the New Year gets here.  So this is my first posting to my blog.  Hopefully when I get it figured out I will post interesting things about my family and bits and scraps about my scrapbooking.  It may be a bumpy ride for a while until I get the hang of it but my mother always told me "You are never too old to learn something new."   So I am going to give it a try.
