Week 17 Postcard - Norway

This week was not a UIU project.  I used 4 coupons and bought myself 12 alcohol inks.  I have been watching Barb Owen making those beautiful canvas pieces with the inks and I had to have some.  So I drove from store to store to use the coupons.  It is a good thing the stores are only about a mile apart.

Front:
Front of Postcard was made using the inks to create the northern lights which can be seen in Norway.
I had a great time creating the image.  I then paper pieced a skyline at the bottom.  The inks were yet another technique that I had not used before.  I am enjoying trying new things on these postcards.

Back:

postcard reads:
Dear Ann.
It was fantastic spending 2 weeks with your family at the beach.  Your children are wonderful and I am so jealous, you have a husband, 2 fantastic children and a career.  I have a career but still waiting on Mr.
Right.  Marc is a great friend but I don't see anything other than that for us.  Doing a quick shoot in Norway. Was able to catch the gorgeous northern lights while setting up the shoot & wanted to share it.  Love and kisses Zoey.

This was a scrapbook type postcard. Background is scrapbook paper, gypsy wagon was a print from computer and printed and cut out.  The gypsy costume was a paper pieced dress which is popped up.  The Gypsy Festival Romania title was printed and added to postcard.

Back of Postscard:
Postcard Reads:
Dear Ann:  Hi, sorry I have been MIA.  Busy, busy, busy with work.  Covering a Gypsy Festival in Romania.  I have had so much fun with this assignment. The clothing and costumes are fantastic.  Good food, dancing and lots of fun.  I even had a session with a fortune teller.  Talk dark handsome man in my future...hum....Marc is medium and blonde.  More travel in my future per the fortune teller.  Give my love to John, Andrew & Isabella.  Love and kisses....Zoey.

MS Walk - Winning Poster

Family walked in the local MS Walk yesterday to support my son Dan who has MS.  We made a poster using my Cricut and entered the poster contest and we won.  Each foot has the name of a team member.

This was not a Use It Up (UIU)  project as I had to buy the posterboard.

Postcard #15 - Iceland

This week finds us in Iceland.  I chose a picture I found on the internet of a church in Iceland that was actually covered in green grass.  Picture was printed in black/white.  I tried something new and used my StampinUp markers to add the colored detail to the
photograph.  I paper pieced an Iceland Flag on top of the church.

Dear Ann:
Just a quick note to let you know I am on special assignment in Iceland doing a documentary.  This is a freelance assignment...expanding my horizons.  I have plans to meet Marc when I get back to the states.  Taking him to meet my parents.  I am so thrilled that you and John fell in love with him when you can to New York City for your kid free weekend.  Missed seeing the kids.  Give my love to John, Andrew & Isabella.
Love and Kisses ....Zoey

Postcard #14 - Singapore

This week finds us in Singapore.  I am amazed at all of the countries we have been to and I have been able to find things in my stash to make these UIU projects.

Front of postcard:
Back of postcard:

This post card has moved us one year ahead and it is from Zoey to Ann.

Dear Ann:  I am on cloud nine....working a Fashion Trade Show in Singapore and madly in love.  I can't wait for you to meet Marc.  After the mess with Jon Paul I never thought I would trust another man.  I cannot
believe that Marc was there all this time working with me but I could not get past the chip on my shoulder to
see what a great guy he was.  We both love what we do & are a great team.  Give my love to John,  Andrew & Isabella.  Love and kisses....Zoey.

So hopefully Zoey has found some happiness in her life.  We shall see.

Guardian Angel

Challenge was to use a can and make something.  So I made a Guardian Angel out of aluminum cans, old jewelry, old lace, old glove.

Body was die cut Tim Holtz dress form die and wings.  Hat decorations made with die cut vine and die cut flowers.  Dress form was covered with old lace glove, added heart charm and watch face.

Another fun recycle challenge.
